Braun Oral-B S185252 Sonic Complete overview/review
As I have already mentioned, this electric toothbrush has been on the market for a number of years now (Since 2004) so it is considered an “old” product. However, this Braun Oral-B S185252 toothbrush has many of the features found in the most advanced, up to date electric toothbrushes out there.
Many of the most up to date electric toothbrushes such as the newer Oral B Professional Care 3000 have different custom brushing settings. This Braun Oral-B S185252 also features these “custom” settings with this brush having a normal daily “clean” setting and a “soft” setting.
The difference between these two is that the “clean” mode is for daily use and provides high power for a complete and thorough clean. The “Soft” mode on the other hand tones down the power of the brush for brushing sensitive areas of the mouth or for sensitive teeth. The soft setting is particularly useful for people who have maybe had some painful dental work carried out and need an electric toothbrush that will clean effectively but at the same time operate in a soft/gentle manner.
I also like that this toothbrush has a pressure sensor which I was surprised to find with a product of this age. I have not personally used this model so I do not know how the pressure sensor operates. I would imagine that the toothbrush will automatically reduce power or switch off if to much pressure is applied, or it may alert the user with a light/sound if too much pressure is being used during brushing. Ether way, this is a very useful feature to have!
Another super feature this toothbrush has is the built in timer. Personally I would not buy an electric toothbrush without one of these. It’s not an expensive addition but it can make a huge improvement to your current brushing routine. Professional dentist recommend that we should brush for a total of 2 minutes for best results. This Braun Oral-B S185252 Sonic Complete toothbrush has a built in timer which gives you a 2 minute brushing time to ensure you never brush for less than this important recommended time. There is more to this timer than just a start and stop after 2 minutes. Every 30 seconds the brush stops operating for a second. This helps you to brush your teeth in 4 sections, so that you brush each section for 30 seconds giving you a complete and even brush across all teeth.
These 3 main features that I have talked about are great and are found in far more up to date and expensive electric toothbrushes such as the Oral B triumph 5000 or Philips Sonicare Flexcare models. Very impressive for such an old toothbrush and I also think this model looks very stylish, even after almost 6 years of being on the market.
Braun Oral-B S185252 Sonic ratings and reviews
This toothbrush has been on sale at Amazon.co.uk since 2004 so has had time to receive many customer reviews. The majority of customers are happy with this toothbrush. However, there are also quite a high number of people who have rated this toothbrush less than 3 stars and left a negative review. Most of the negative complaints are about the battery, apparently it is very low quality and does not hold a charge well after some time. There are many people on the other had who are pleased with the performance of the brush but these people could have left a good review before they experienced the battery problem. At the moment the toothbrush scores 3.5 / 5 star rating which is quite low and a bad sign that this product could result in a disappointing purchase.
